Creating a stronger, Greater Bendigo where all people can thrive
Located in the geographic centre of Victoria within the Goldfields region, Bendigo is part of the Jaara Country, the traditional land of the people of the Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung. Today it’s home to world class manufacturing, advanced manufacturing and mining businesses with a combined economic output of approximately $5.80B, which accounts for 28.2% of the total output for Greater Bendigo’s economy.

A number of Bendigo’s leading manufacturers are in food industries, which has been the source of major jobs growth in the region and strengthened Bendigo’s application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the category of Gastronomy, awarded in October 2019 – a first for Australia!
